Eurolingua 2026

As part of our English education, eleven students from the fourth and fifth grades had the exciting opportunity to participate in the qualifying round of the Eurolingua competition. The test consisted of two hours of various reading and listening tasks covering current topics such as a text about K-pop demon hunters and a BBC news report about an underwater tunnel being built under the Baltic Sea.

Generally speaking, it would have been a missed chance if we had not taken part in this competition. It clearly showed in which areas the strengths of each individual lie and in which competences there is still room for improvement. In preparation for our Matura, it exposed us to the conditions of an actual exam and provided us with some additional practice for the different task types that will be relevant for our final exam. Furthermore, the certificate we received will undoubtedly be a valuable addition to our CVs.

Congratulations are in order for every one of the successful participants.

We are all very thankful for this opportunity and look forward to participating again next year.
